                                                                                    Quincy March 17. 1840

 

            I John P. Greene was in company with Several of my neighbors waking the Rode in peace when one of our company a Young man by the name of Obanion was Shot down at my Side; being Shot by a company of mobbers. & Soon after this we was fired uppon a gain & two more ware [kiled?] & Several other wounded this was about the 25 day of oct. one thousan Eight hun[dre]d & thirty Eight in the State of Mosura. & I do hereby certify the above to be true according to the best of my knowledge
